Ruth Roman was born on June 22nd, 1939, on June 22, 1939 in Lynn Massachusetts. Ruth Roman was the first child born to Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline Gold & Abraham Roman. In her early years, Ruth Roman's father, a carnival barker, passed away, which forced her mother, Mary Pauline (Gold) to be an attendant or cleaner so that they could remain alive. Ruth was born in a poor area of Boston Massachusetts where she enrolled in the school. She quit the school she attended just two years later in order to pursue the profession of acting. The path she chose wasn't without its challenges. While in New York, her first job involved posing stills in crime magazines. the theatre work that she wanted eluded. Her next job was as a "hat check" girl for a nightclub but she quit and moved back to Boston. She was in Boston when she worked at night as an actor with New England Repertory Company and for the remainder of her time as an usherette. She has also graduated from Bishop-Lee Theatre School, where she was a drama student.
